Senior Infants - Class Work

29 – 30 June – Senior Infants – Ms McGreal & Mr Curran

Hello everyone,

We hope you are all keeping well 🙂

For the final couple of days of school work before the summer holidays, we have some fun activities to do for the last week of school work.

Again, there will be no StudyLadder work this week.

We would like to thank you again for all the amazing work you have been doing over the past few months and all the support you’ve given us too.

Kind regards,

Ms. McGreal and Mr. Curran.

Monday 29th June
MAKE YOUR OWN OBSTACLE COURSE!!

This week we are challenging you to create your own obstacle course in your garden or somewhere that has enough space.

Here are a few ideas to get you started on building an indoor obstacle course for your kids:

1. Crawl under or over a row of chairs.

2. Crawl under a string stretched between two chair legs.

3. Jump into and out of a Hula-Hoop five times.

4. Walk on a balance board.

5. Throw a beanbag into a laundry basket.

6. Run while balancing a beanbag on your head.

7. Do a ring toss.

8. Ride a tricycle along a predetermined route.

9. Somersault from one point to another.

Feel free to incorporate your child’s specific interests and incorporate him in the brainstorming process. For example, if your child plays soccer, create a station that mimics scoring a goal in soccer. You can also use chalk to create certain parts of an obstacle course on the concrete.

Tuesday 30th June
Make your own ice lollies using yoghurt or juice.

Simply put your yogurt or juice into a small freeze-safe container (Big ice cube trays, clean yoghurt pots, silicone muffin cases, mini baking tins or small paper or plastic cups). Then all you need to do is put a lolly pop stick or small spoon into the middle of the container facing up and make sure there’s enough of it exposed so you can hold onto your delicious ice lolly. Pop the yogurt or juice into the freezer facing up so it doesn’t leak. Wait about 2 hours (or until it’s frozen through) and then enjoy your amazing summer treat in the (hopefully) good weather J

You can experiment with flavours and even put blended fruit into your lolly to make it even more delicious.

Wednesday 1st July ->
Enjoy your summer 🙂
